Dear MMA and judo community,
In the recent light of increasing use of judo in MMA (though, perhaps still not as widely used as it could be) by the likes of Ronda Rousey, Hector Lombard and even unlikely candidates like Nick Diaz and Urijah Faber, there is likely a contingent of MMA practitioners who see the usefullness of judo in the MMA clinch.
With this new found popularity there's also been an increase in tutorial videos, including these absolute cluster-fuck-of-an-excuse-for-a-tutorial-videos below by “MMA Surge”*.
I've only been doing judo (and a bit of BJJ) for 9 years now. I've learned some stuff, I compete, I win some tournaments, and I lose some but I'm no superstar. In fact I put myself squarely in the average joe camp of adult judoka with the same number of years.
Yet, I would say that my judo experience fucking ECLIPSES anything this retard at MMA Surge knows about judo and you don't see me making videos.
Please take note that NOTHING he does in his videos is correct. NOTHING. EVERYTHING performed looks like it's being done by a FIRST MONTH white belt who saw an old Karo video, and said “I can do that!”. I can't even fathom how he can still be making videos.
So, for the love of God and judo. Please, please, if you want to learn judo go to your local JUDO club. The thing about judo, is it's not about the techniques or the moves, it's about the movements. It doesn't matter how many different ways you can do a throw, if someone can move you the right way, they're gonna throw you, and you can only really learn by doing it.
And also, where the fuck is the dojo storm on this guy!? COME ON JUDOKA, WHERES YOUR PASSION FOR OUR ART!
*I fully realize that I am contributing traffic (and possibly a lot of traffic) to this guys website. But I hope with the right/wrong attention he will STOP making these videos.
